Storage of Artelac® Rebalance
Storage at +2°C to +25°C and protect from light!
Artelac® Rebalance has key ingredients found in the eye and in tears. These include sodium hyaluronate, which binds water, nutrients and purified ions (e.g. potassium, magnesium, sodium and calcium) to the surface of the eye to moisturise and relieve symptoms. Artelac® Rebalance also contains an added humectant to prolong the duration of hydration.
Who is it recommended for?
As we age, tear production decreases, compensated by sagging eyelids to allow less tears to evaporate as the eye socket narrows. Hormonal changes associated with menopause, certain diseases (e.g. diabetes), taking certain medications (e.g. tranquillisers, contraceptives) can also cause dry eyes.
Why?
In the case of persistent dry eyes, the sensation of foreign bodies, sensitivity to light, heavy eyelids and reddening of the eyes are extremely unpleasant problems. The underlying causes cannot always be changed, but there are solutions to alleviate the symptoms! Artelac® Rebalance is best used to alleviate the symptoms of persistent dry eyes caused by chronic tear deficiency and to soothe the eyes.
Product Benefits
Artelac Rebalance is best used to relieve the symptoms of persistent dry eye caused by chronic tear deficiency and to soothe the eye. Chronic tear deficiency can have a number of causes, such as inflammation and dysfunction of the lacrimal glands, dysfunction of the eyelids, sensory disturbances and/or insufficient tear quality.
When one or more of these factors compromise tear production, the tear film is imbalanced and a number of unpleasant complaints and symptoms can result: inflammation of the ocular surface, redness, burning sensation in the eye, dryness, sensitivity to light, feeling tired, sandy eye sensation and pain, which if left untreated can lead to further inflammation and corneal damage. Certain medications (such as contraceptives, antihistamines, beta-blockers, anticonvulsants, diuretics), certain diseases and certain preservatives in eye drops (such as benzalkonium chloride, thiomersal) can also play an important role in the development of dry eyes and corneal damage.
Due to the complex nature of tear production disorder, there are limited treatment options; however, the multi-faceted ingredients in Artelac Rebalance are formulated to provide long-lasting relief from the symptoms of dry eye. It replaces the natural tear film and its essential components to ensure proper functioning. Artelac Rebalance helps to stop the chain of events that lead to dry eye symptoms, moisturising the eye and protecting its surface.
Artelac® Rebalance helps to stop the chain of events that lead to dry eye symptoms, moisturising the eye and protecting the surface. It contains a gentle preservative (Oxyd®) that breaks down the tear's natural components (oxygen, water and salt) once it reaches the surface of the eye. Artelac® Rebalance is easy to use and well tolerated, even with contact lenses.
