1. What is Cationorm?® and for which diseases?
Cationorm® is a sterile, hypotonic, non-preserved emulsion eye drop in the form of a milky liquid.
Cationorm® contains mineral oils, glycerol, thioxapol, polyoxamer 188, TRIS hydrochloride, thromethamine, cetalkonium chloride (as cationic ingredient) and purified water.
Cationorm® contains 10 ml of sterile emulsion per container.
Cationorm® is recommended to help moisturize, lubricate and protect the surface of the eye to relieve symptoms of dry eye. Such symptoms include a stinging, itching, burning sensation or foreign body sensation in the eye (as if a grain of sand or dust has been deposited in the eye). These symptoms may be caused by external factors such as air conditioning, air pollution, air travel, working in front of a monitor, laser eye surgery, wearing contact lenses, etc., or by pathological conditions such as abnormal functioning of the Meibomian glands.
2. Cationorm® before use
Do not use Cationorm®-ot, if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
This product is not suitable for the treatment of other eye diseases. If you have any questions, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
If you are using another eye drop at the same time, wait at least 5 minutes before Cationorm® before use. It is recommended that the Cationorm® apply the preparation last.
Catrionorm® does not affect contact lens quality and can be used while wearing contact lenses.
3. How to Cationorm® apply
FOR OPHTHALMIC USE.
The recommended dose is 1 drop in each eye, 1-4 times a day.
Instructions for use:
- Wash your hands.
- When using the eyedropper container for the first time, remove the safety ring on the cap by pulling the tab.
- Hold the container between your thumb and index finger.
- Do not touch the drip hole of the tank with your fingers.
- Tilt your head back.
- Gently pull down your lower eyelid and look down.
- Hold the container over your eyes, then place the back of your hand on your forehead.
Gently squeeze a drop into your eye, then blink a few times.
- Do not touch your eyes or eyelashes with the dropper opening of the container.
- Put the cap back on the container after use.
- Store the container in its box when not in use.
Do not use Cationorm® within three months of the first resolution.
There is a risk of infection if you use the product more than 3 months after opening.
4. What are the possible side effects?
Very rarely, temporary discomfort may occur. Examples include irritation of the eye, eye pain, foreign body sensation in the eye, semi-irritation, eye itching, watery eyes, burning sensation in the eye, temporary blurred vision, eyelid inflammation or eyelid oedema. These are also typical symptoms of dry eye, which is related to the pre-existing underlying eye disease in patients with dry eye. IF YOU NOTICE ANY SIDE EFFECTS NOT LISTED IN THIS LEAFLET, TELL YOUR PHARMACIST OR DOCTOR.
5. How to store Cationorm®?
The container should be stored at room temperature in its outer box.
Keep out of the reach of children!
Do not use if the glass is damaged.
Do not use beyond the expiry date printed on the box.
