Instructions for use HYCOSAN® PLUS
Eye moisturiser to prevent drying of the eyes or to promote healing of the eye surface damaged by surgical procedures.
What is HYCOSAN® PLUS?
HYCOSAN® PLUS is a sterile, preservative-free solution for ophthalmic use.
Composition:
1 ml HYCOSAN® PLUS contains 1 mg sodium hyaluronate, dexpanthenol, anhydrous citric acid, sodium citrate and water for injection.
What is HYCOSAN® PLUS used for?
Aor HYCOSAN® PLUS lubrication to help heal eye damage caused by dry eyes or surgical procedures.
When should HYCOSAN® PLUS be used?
To regenerate and maintain a healthy eye, the surface of the eye - the cornea and conjunctiva - is constantly moist. Ideally, this is provided by our tears. Despite this, some people have poor quality tear film or insufficient tear droplets. If these factors are present, the surface of the eye may become dry, red, itchy, sore, have a foreign body or a burning sensation. These symptoms of insufficient supply of physiological tears may occur in dry or air-conditioned environments, as a result of medication or age.
Corneal and conjunctival epithelial cells are constantly regenerating, and this occurs most effectively when the surface of the eye is well lubricated. Therefore, it is also important to lubricate the ocular surface properly after surgery to ensure that the wound heals quickly and effectively.
In all of the above cases, it is important to lubricate the eye sufficiently by applying HYCOSAN® PLUS to renew the physiological balance of lubrication and wetting of the eye.
HYCOSAN® PLUS contains the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, which is a physiological substance of the eye, but also of other parts of the body. The unique property of sodium hyaluronate is that it forms a uniform and long-lasting lubricating film on the surface of the eye without washing away quickly. In this way, the moisturising fluid is prolonged without damaging vision. Therefore, HYCOSAN® PLUS can be used during the day when eye ointments should not be used due to their thick viscosity, which causes blurred vision.
HYCOSAN® PLUS also contains dexpanthenol, which belongs to the group of B vitamins. Dexpanthenol provides an effective environment on the surface of the eye to support healing, and the lubricating properties of sodium hyaluronate provide additional support. Consequently, the small superficial erosion of the ocular surface caused by an inadequate tear film heals faster, as does the wound, which is an inevitable result of the surgical procedure.
HYCOSAN® PLUS not only provides sufficient care for the eye lubrication, but also ensures better repair of the cornea and conjunctiva at the same time.
How to use HYCOSAN® PLUS?
Please do not use HYCOSAN® PLUS if any part of the protective seal of the collapsible carton is damaged or broken.
First use of the system:
Before the first application, turn the HYCOSAN® PLUS bottle with the tip pointing downwards and push it into the bottom of the bottle until the first drop meets the nozzle. Now the bottle is ready for further use.
General use:
Remove the cap before use. Hold the cap over the bottle. With your other hand, pull the bottle off the cap in a rotating motion.
Hold the bottle upside down with your thumbs on the shoulder of the bottle and your fingers on the bottom of the bottle.
Lift your head back slightly, gently pull down the lower eyelid, and press firmly and quickly on the center of the bottom of the bottle. This will activate the mechanism to deliver a drop. Due to the special COMOD® valve system, the size and velocity of each droplet is independent of the force with which you press the bottle. Close the eye slowly to allow the liquid to drain out and spread evenly over the eye surface.
Replace the cap immediately after use. Make sure the dropper is dry. When applying the liquid, avoid the tip of the bottle, eyes or skin
The COMOD® system contains 7.5 ml of solution, which is equivalent to approximately 225 drops. For technical reasons, only a small amount of solution remains in the bottle at the very end.HYCOSAN® PLUS eye drops are for your use only, even people with similar symptoms should not use your eye drops.
